Welcome!

I'm Kristi, an aspiring chemist and knitter living in Central Illinois.  I'm married to an eccentric audio designer who loves hats. We share our home with a puggle named Nugget who loves to gnaw on Knitpicks Harmony needles.  Thanks for dropping by!

Hello!  My name is Kristi, but I also go by ScienceKnitGirl on Ravelry.  Long story.

I will be 30 years old as of February 6, 2009.  My goal is to obtain a college degree in chemistry or some other science field and to successfully boil water without the smoke alarm going off.  I live in central Illinois with my husband Jake and Nugget, our puggle.

I am a self taught knitter of five years.  My mother-in-law taught me the basics of crochet, but so far I have crocheted most of an amigurumi duck and toyed around with doilies.

I spend a lot of time at the knitting shop called Needleworks in Champaign, Illinois.  They are a really diverse and knowledgeable group of people and I can easily find myself spending most of the day there. The owner is on a mission to get me to talk more; I'm pretty introverted.

As of spring of 2009, I am enrolled part-time at Parkland College.  I am aiming for an Associates Degree in Physical Sciences and hope to transfer to the University of Illinois afterwards.

Jake is an in-house audio designer for a video game development studio. He is also self taught when it comes to all things musical. Check out his website, Big Lion Music, to listen to all his auditory endeavors.

He also enjoys needle felting.
